Webdesign of aatvos.com revisited

Once we looked deeper into the way it was build we found the reason for the inflexibility; it was not build on modules. The complete website was one piece fed by a wordpress type of content management system. There was absolutely no room to fiddle and finetune.

Next Level of Aat Vos

Aat Vos asked for a site that was obviously building on his current webdesign. Some things were therefore set, like the opening movie, the font family and his signature yellow. The challenge was to design a website that was future proof and that would profile him as an international creative guide more than an architect. He has gained fame for his ‘schuurwoning’ (barnhouses) but over the years he grew to a guide in complex social and architectural assignments like for the Public Library of Oslo Norway. He also wrote a book about it: 3rd4ALL: How to Create a Relevant Public Space.

A showcase of flexibel webdesign

In the new webdesign for aatvos.com we introduced a new color orange to distinguish his projects from his blog posts, added a download option to engage with his audience and introduced a totally new navigation; we removed the header menu. It’s hard to describe, it’s something you have to experience on aatvos.com.

We build design systems

For aatvos.com we build design elements that makes it easy to transfer the webdesign from desktop to tablet to mobile. It’s so called device agnostic webdesign, like we did for Bioclin.
